Not one is the perfect lover
Yet I am perfectly grateful for them all…
One man loves me like the air I breathe
Touching me with his thoughts and depth of ideas
That never graze the skin
He arouses my intellect and calls me from deep within
…we communicate
One man loves me like water
Filling me up with secretions to overflowing
Washing me over with sacred
Kisses that cleanse to heal my soul
…we thirst for each other
Another loves me like the Earth
To sun and moon
Spinning in and out of sight
Aren’t we a pair
Dancing away from each
Other during the day
Clinging to each other’s bodies
For dear life in the night
…we use each other
There is he who loves me like Space
Or loves me from Space
Or gives me way too much space
And when we connect over the years…
It’s like we haven’t missed a beat in time…or space
…we appreciate
Then, the man who loves me like Fire
Who has the energy to burn me up
With one word, a subtle touch,
A hug that makes me melt
It’s all too much to stick around
But when it gets cold…and I need warmth
He’s there – burning – sharing all of himself
…we yield to flow
And the man who loves me like wood
Brazen to touch,
Grounding me
Helping me build what pulls me down into my roots
Pointing toward the way of constant change
…we stand up together
And there is the man
Whose love is like a precious metal
Priceless
Golden conductor of pure love
Adorning me with pure trust
Pure commitment, pure Spirit
Keeping me close to pure life
…we create each other
Not one is the perfect lover
Yet I am perfectly grateful for them all…
